"how's my site?"
Thu Dec-20-01 06:53 AM

What do you think?

http://reliexec.tripod.com

Is the spelling good? That's one of the main things I'm working on so I hope you don't find any mistakes! And the link page probably looks messy but as I get more links it will look better. It's because I'm using links4trade and they want me to link to the remote page from my link button and not link to it from my links page. I cheated, I have a frame for that page and a frame for all the affilites that I'm adding now. I'm hoping to finish transferring all my software by new year since that will be the date I officially change my company to Reliexec. Gives me time to submit my site all over the net so that search engines can find it. Links4trade is good for that since they will put me in and other links page linking to mine.

Just curious, has anyone have a very good financial expirience with affiliates such as Commision Juncing links? Thanks!

edit: ok, now the links page uncleaness I was talking about is gone. I actually forgot that I had another company that was just for computer affiliates so I just linked to it with my links4trade page. Now I need to start moving my Ryansoftware Corp. apps and register and upload them under Reliexec. Register as in changing all the links and statements to Ryansoftware in readme files etc...

Ryan

Ok...colors are still shocking - guess that's a good thing.
Get a spell checker, please. Different, easily, and Season's are 3 of the words that jumped out at me...correct spelling given...I cringe when I see typos on webpages.
I don't know much about 'layout' for websites...looks ok.

Perhaps others can tell you more, but the site seems ok.

The green print on black background is a little harsh on my 53 yr old eyes, and the 3D logo is very hard for me to read. If I didn't know name of your site I couldn't decipher it from your logo. Seems to be very well organized and I'm looking forward to the final product.

Ryan...I used to be a sign painter and worked with some very good layout people who really knew their visuals. Rule #1 is "is it readable"? When it comes to color sometimes less is more. I realize a stationary sign at drive-by speeds is a different animal than a web page but I think rule #1 still applies. Your main title is a dashing color but can't be read by these old eyes without some study.

I agree with the above postings, but i think this site has potential for sure.

First thing i noticed...its fast. Thats a good thing.

Keep up the good work, and when its all done you can teach me some html.

Ryan,

I agree the logo is a little splashy and difficult to read.

Otherwise, your site is miles ahead of what it used to be.

By the way, I went through the whole site and only got one popup ad. That's good.

The site loads fast, the text and your post have much better grammar and spelling, navigation is easy. Legibility is good, except for the logo.

I'd prefer a white background with black text, but that's probably just me.

Put some more content in there and you're good to go.

Hey Ryan,

The layout looks great and all buttons work just fine. I might consider placing the "Home" button at the top with "about" at the bottom. But, that's me. I think the home button should be top priority. What is cool is the buttons are easy to read.

I'll also say the the colors are just a little much for me, but not all that bad. I'd prefer something a little more subtle. I guess it's the green that is harsh. The orange and yellow look great.

Your description of the software "Char Changer", the second sentence is somewhat unclear. Had to read it a few times to understand what was intended. Also, in "Delete Prank" it was unclear what was intended. Didn't make sense to me the first time I read it.

That's my take on the sight. You've spent a lot of time on it and it shows.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll work on a simpler logo and I think I will consider just keeping it 2D since now that you mention it, it is hard to read. And for the text color, what do you think would be better? Orange for all text (white for links), blue or yellow? I'm not sure. I know that white is hard since it's the complete oposite of black so it's a big inverse which is flashy (like people who write tests with pink or yellow hilighters!) For the software descriptions, I think I should spend more time to think of how to explain it too I guess. Did anyone try on some of my software by chance? I just hope I'm at least making usefull stuff! I'm not quite done trasferring but things are getting there.

I changed the main text color to silver. Is it too dark or what do you find?

http://reliexec.tripod.com

I like Tripod since there's only one banner that comes once and I think they don't have a file size limit. This will help me allot if there's none. Since my software was getting a little bigger then it was before. Before I only had batch files full of errors and BAD spelling, and punctuation was the worse!

Ryan,

Hon, your site is so much better that I can't stand it. I think that it is good enough to be considered an actual, real website. Way to go!

The programs you have for download now might actually be of use to someone! I think you should do some research and find out what Operating Systems your programs will work under and provide that information.

One thing. The link below took me to a 404 page.

http://www.ryansoftware.esmartbuyer.com/software/software.htm

Clean up that logo, too. It is the focal point of your website and should be EASY to read.

Just curious, Hon. Why did you choose that name?

oups, was gone for a while so that's why it took long. I'm done trasferring the software from my old company to this new one so I can even take it off completly. I was linking to a completly diffrent page. Good think you told me since I HATE broken links. Not only on my website I hate them but anywhere on the net! the worse situation is finding the exact description of a site that I want from a search engine, click it, and "the page cannot be displayed" error. And I'll work on a new logo soon. I don't have time now though but for sure by tomorrow since it's friday so it does not hurt to stay up longer. I have so much to do anyway so it will feel good to finish it all.

For the company name, the reason I named it that and the reason that I changed first of all is because "Ryansoftware" din't sound that profesional. Usually a company won't have a name in it. Like "Microsoft" for example. Reliexec means that you execute (run) software which is reliable. So Reli for reliable and exec for execute. I was thinking of all kinds of names, typing them in google to make sure I don't get any results and this is the one that returned 0. Absolutly nothing. So I chose this one. I can't wait to fill all search engines with my marketting work on adds, submissions etc and be on top. The thing is, most people will type "reliable software" or "bug free software" if they want what my site has to offer and I sure won't be on top first try! And if they type "software" ouch, I'll be all alone in the bottom:). I found allot of tricks to get listed though, most of them don't require me to submit. links4trade is good for that!
