I installed CloneCD the other day and noticed after the installation it added a 3rd CD-ROM letter called "Virtual Clone Drive". What is it and do i really want it?
"Virtual Clone is a way to use a CD image as though you have a CD in your drive.
Basically use the option "Read to File" to create a CCD image somewhere on your hard disk(s). Right click on the virtual drive in explorer, then on Virtual CloneDrive, then Mount. The File Open Dialog opens. Select a CCD image file, and hit ok.
The ccd image file is now magically working like its an actual CD."
It's not for burning images, it's for mounting images. So for example, you could mount an image of a game or a CD or whatever, and while it resides on your HD, it will act like it is an additional CD drive. Comes in handy when you want to play games that require you to have a specific CD in the drive, if you know how to get around the various CD protection measures.

Well i have the original CDs of all my games so i really dont' see myself needing that.
Hey by the way 'Dude' - why did you get rid of your other sig??? I thought it was hilarious!
Chewy, Nero comes with something similar. It is to store the CDs on the hard drive and access them at will as a cdrom. I do it all the time because I get tired of hunting down my game CDs when I want to play something different. It reduces the amount of scratches on the CDs and I don't need to flip through a good size book of CDs trying to find them.
