"Intel Storage Driver"

Last time i did a clean install of my OS, i remember i saw a "Intel Storage Driver" that was on my Dell Resource CD. If i install the chipset driver - do i still need to install this? I'm not familiar with what this is for.

I use Intel Application Accelerator 2.2 or I can't get my DVD/CDRW out of PIO mode. Mine came with the Intel Storage Driver and it was the pits. My DVD/CDRW was stuck in PIO.You need a IDE controller driver.

Intel Application Accelerator includes the Storage Driver, so install the last Accelerator, I think is v.2.3.
Remember that depending on the chipset and OS that you are using you will also need to install the Chipset Software Installation Utility BEFORE Accelerator.
