13 days into the fund drive we have seen only i third of the amount of contributions we had in the first 13 days of our last drive.
We have reduced the cost of operating PCQandA by nearly 50% while retaining our usual world class site hosting performance, and our fund goals were accordingly reduced.
I understand that these are difficult financial times for many of our members, but not everyone is affected. This site must pay our bills on time. The only way we can do that is through every member chipping in a little to provide the funds. The alternative is what none of us wants to see happen, the permanent shut down of this site, and we are not many dollars away from that happening.
No one associated with PCQandA has ever made a dime for the thousands of hours invested to keep it running. For many of you it has for many years been your home on the internet, giving and getting help that saves our membership serious money maintaining our computers. I doubt if anyone has paid nearly as much to keep this place alive, than they have received in benefits avoiding costly time and money keeping our computers running. So where is the support when we need it?
We see many here only when they need help desperately, many others come by just about every day to help to chat, to argue. Either way we will leave a big void if we disappear off the internet and out of your life.
It is time to step up! We will really miss this place.
