I live in Los Angeles, Ca. and I can tell you for the most part we ignore car alarms here. The reasons are; 1) There are too many false alarms 2) This is one of the higher stolen car areas in the states. 3) A lot of the people here just don't want to get involved. The best solution would probubly be lo-jack. I personally only use the Club steering wheel lock. I know it wouldn't stop a pro thief but it might stop a joy rider. Also my car is always in a locked garage with a locked driveway gate. Hope this helps you.

thanks for everyone responds if i do get lojack i will get it from honda dealership and yes it comes with keeyles entry.
lojack is supported in los angels. I have installed in the car that i replaced with this one. This new car come with key engine inmobilizer. If you don't have a right key you can't start car.
Well guess i will probeably get my self a lojack again

>Lojack works. If the car is stolen, the police can locate >it. Alarms are a waste of money.
only reason i am asking if i should lojack or something else is i had a friend that left a car for 5 min and when he came back car as gone. He reported but cops never found. He was told if they put it in garage and the signal can't get out then the alarm is useless. So guess question is how stronge is lojack signal

Noisemaker Car alarms are more trouble than they are worth. If the car doesn't already have one, an electronic engine immobiliser is better value for money.
But remember, most locks are only designed to keep honest people out. Most steering column locks are easily beaten.
I agree on the noisy alarms, because I have been ignoring them for years. Too many instances of them going off in parking areas, I've heard "wolf" way too many times.
A neighbor found his pickup broken into with the power to the alarm system cut off by the thief. He sliced the battery cable after popping the hood.
They are also a neighborhood nuisance around here, especially with all of the thunderstorms that we've been having daily. Bad enough to be awakened by a *BOOM*, worse yet to be kept awake by the car alrms that it sets off. I have 3 or four like that around here.
Any anti-theft device can be foiled, with the last resort being to tow the car away. The Honda Accord (manufactured 15 miles from where I live) is one of the most popular among car thieves.

Don't forget the South African option for when your car is surround by an angry mob, a couple blasts on the propane burners on each side of the car insures quick mob dispersal.

i don't recommend getting an after-market alarm. somebody else than an authorized mechanic screwing around with the car's electrical system can have bad consequences. happened to me once.
my vote goes for the club, the glock, and the lojack.
