Great photographs.

I particularly liked the ones taken in Canyon de Shelly(sic).

The sad thing is that the photographer, Timothy O'Sullivan, lost hundreds of his original negatives (and nearly his life) when his boat capsized during the expedition.

I'm surprised the 'face' in the picture hasn't been mentioned!
Can you see it?

That was great - what an amazing time to be alive, with something as vast and amazing as the American west to two explore for the first time ... until you find that inscription

On the face - I'm a child of the west, and they're everywhere in rock formations - I can see two in the pic posted.

Don't know. But, right click the thread and select "View Source". Scroll down to line 400, you'll see that "#" plus the reply number are missing. For clarification, the first reply, line 219, looks like this

Quote:

while your un-numbered reply. line 400, looks like this

I see it has a number 4. I don't see any post in this thread without a number.

Strange, I don't see his post number in IE 9. I notice that you're using Chrome so I tried that. Still no post number for him. Maybe if I turn my computer upside down...
