Nic Wallenda is scheduled to walk over the Canadian Horseshoe Falls from the US side to the Canadian side live tonight on ABC TV. Coverage begins at 9 PM and he is scheduled to walk at about 10 PM EST. He will walk with a safety harness. (15 Jun 12)

That's cool, but I think I'll stay home and watch the paint dry instead. It's nice that so many people will be waiting for him to fall and will be disappointed if he falls and is caught by a safety line.

Here’s what I’d would want to do that stunt.
1. Be fairly young and strong 2. Not be afraid of height. 3. A 2” diameter cable will be fine, fairly taut. 4. Several pendulum anchors to control cable twist. 5. No severe weather. 6. Shoes that aren’t slippery when wet because I want to run the last 10 feet or so without slipping. Elk skin soles should work fine. 7. A tether. 8. And most important of all, a balance pole that’s long and heavy with drooping ends to lower my center gravity. Ah, the balance pole. That even works with inanimate objects on the high wire.
