Sad lady who let her grief destroy her son's memory, it's an all volunteer army now and everyone who enlisted knew what could be required.

What a difference between Sheehan and Tillman's relatives reactions.

The Tillman family are beginning to question the death, according to this article:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/03/06/national/main1371740.shtml

I guess when you think that your son died for no good reason, and many more will die, it tends, as in Cindy Sheehan's case, to bring out the worst. Actually I feel sorry for her knowing what it was like to lose family to war.

Guns don't kill people. Husbands who come home early kill people.

Fathers and mothers should NOT survive their children; that's a given. Fathers and mothers who lose children are never the same. I know: My mother was never the same after she lost her daughter, my sister, who was only in her 50's when she died by her own hand 10 years ago. My mother died a year later, of grief, I am sure.

There is an 1890's song "She's More to Be Pitied than Censured," of which I have long been fond (I'm a musician, among other things). The song concerns the life of a "fallen woman" who has come to the notice of her "superiors" who don't seem to understand what she has been through.

Unless you have lost a child (or a sister) early in life, you (the generic you) have no standing to criticize Cindy Sheehan. I do not applaud her stand, I don't understand what she is doing with President Chavez, but then I don't have to. I understand where she is, emotionally, and she IS "more to be pitied than censured."

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Chavez and some of his cohorts seen her as an Easy "Mark" to further "Their Agenda". He's not the most accessible "person", ( I use that term loosely) unless he's got something to gain.

She's just what he wants. Someone who will take the "Flack" to Embarrass Bush while he sits back and enjoys the Photo-op.

Don't forget, he's a Politician, to use the term loosely. They never do anything unless they've got something to gain.

It's to bad that she can't see that she's being "Used".

I feel sorry for her too. It's to bad other people can't see what's going on.

Yes indeed she is to be pitied ! As well as those that are manipulating her to satisfy a political agenda.

Yes it is a terrible thing for the premature loss of a child .

Your point is noted !

And no she is not alone in that department,as there are many more mothers out there that have loss sons and daughters to this stupid war ,and all the rest of the stupid wars, as they are all stupid. How many more are acting in the way she is ?

Good points you make. My paternal grandmother outlived two of her children who both died of heart attacks in their fifties. She also outlived my grandfather who had severe emphysema from smoking and from coal dust. After years of living under an oxygen tent, he managed to find his old .32 and ended his suffering. I would say my grandmother was never the same after that.

And yes i must agree ! This woman has a political agenda, and it has nothing to do with the loss of her son.

Old dissenters and prosters, and those that have nothing positive to contribute ,never die ,they just fade away. And she will, but unfortunately not until after November .

Ouch!

Someone, Whom I assume you go to church and pray to every second or third Sunday, once said, "Judge not, lest you be judged."

She lost a child, for shit's sake, what in hell have you lost but your ability to be compassionate.

She has earned the right to shout her grief and hostility from the rooftops, and she re-earns it each morning she wakes to face the reality of another day without her son.

If it dosen't fit your political agenda, tough nookies...

I knew a mother that lost a son in war. Did she grieve? You bet. Did she ever forget that son? No, on her death bed she made a comment about soon being with that son lost to war 35 years past. While grieving, she carried on with life. She joined the Gold Star Mothers, which if you did not know, is an organization comprised of mothers that have lost sons and daughters while in military service of The United States.

This mother would have been very compassionate in helping Cindy Sheehan get over her loss, up to the point where Ms. Sheehan lost touch and went over the edge. Then Ms. Sheehan would have gotten ripped up one side and down the other for carrying on the way she has.

How do I know? The fallen soldier's mother I am referring to was also my mother. I feel disgust anytime I read what Ms. Sheehan is doing. So be it.

All mothers are angels.

Obviously, your mom was a loving and compassionate lady -- but, as I,
you assume a male perspective. Sadly, you may speak only for yourself.

In my sixty-one years I've observed that moms invariabily are protective of hearth and home, while us guys love to wave the g'damned flag, no matter how bloody it becomes.

I feel your loss and applaud your mother's courage and devotion.

But, calling a woman who has lost her son "bitch" and "traitor" because she speaks against the carnage that claimed him, in my opinion, goes way beyond the line.

For what it's worth, this lady has my blessing to spit on any damned thing she chooses, and I'd hold her hand while she does it.

Mrs. Sheehan's behavior does not dishonor her nation or the brave young people who serve it.

Unlike the arrogant, power-driven, lying neocon bastards who started this disaster in Iraq, she has placed herself in the eye of the storm. Agree or disagree, this is one ballsy lady.

Isn't that what America is about? Or does everyone have to pack a six gun, talk like John Wayne and act like Richard Nixon?

Yes, her son was brave, courageous, gallant ... and naive thinking that his Commander-in-Chief would only lead him into justified wars!

This is America; you who criticize her, and she who criticizes her government for leading so many brave souls to a meaningless death, all have the right to speak their opinions. Let's hope and pray that somehow, by the Grace of God, that some good can somehow come from this quagmire that we have been led into.

We are one nation under God INSPITE of our politicians, and so are all other nations inspite of THEIR politicians.

Well, I believe that there can only be one Infinite Being, because if you're infinite, then you're the only thing that there is. I don't give two hoots about who is paying her traveling expenses; if she's in enough pain over her son's death she probably doesn't care either.

Obviously the Muslims have a different view than yours.Anyone who does not believe that their version of GOD is the right and only one are infidels.
I think the group paying her expenses sheds light on her motives beyond her grief !

Oh, I've pissed off a lot of Christians with my views in my life; they just don't like hearing that their perfect Word of God is filled with mistakes and has been manipulated throughout history by kings and politicians to say what THEY wanted it to say.

Which God what? You've lost me. If there is a Creator, there can only be one, and I believe, for what it's worth, that the Creator (I hate the word God, it's such a religious word) is infinite, everywhere (there is energy even in the near perfect vacuum of space), and BEYOND time, since I believe Einstein proved, at least mathamatically, that time is an illusion. Never created, never destroyed, and He/She/It used itself, pure energy (I'm talking souls here, not bodies) to create us in His/Her/Its image, beings of Light and Soul; the Creator, in my view, has no physcial form, if so, His hair must be awfully long by now, after all, can scissors cut the hair of God and ... how big is His penis.

Ok, if there is a God, and if He truly loves all his children, then we are ALL under Him, no matter what kind of stupid things we do as individuals, and stupid things our nations do in the name of self-protection.

If this does not answer your question than I am afraid that I am too stupid to understand your question, and we'll just have to let it go at that.

I am old enough to have lost any expectations of people seeing the futility of arguing over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. There are no angels, but there are a lot of pins.

It took me 2 1/2 years and many billions of grey cells to make a mere 500. To make 37000 I'd have to live to be...?

Infinite means that you will be around forever, like a good pair of Levis.

According to we Roman Cathloics, the Trinity -- God the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost are infinite. They are also omnipresent (everywhere like Santa), omniescient (all knowing like me, Santa and the Tooth Fairy), and omniverous (I think that means they eat everything but suchi).

You, also are infinite, and after kicking the proverbial bucket, will go to one of three places for processing: Heaven where you are met by Saint Peter who bids you welcome to eternal bliss (this would be akin to having a perpetual reoccuring orgasm -- I hope, because anything else would be unacceptable after all the promises), Purgatory which is kinda like life because you don't know what the f is happening and somebody is always pissing on your shoes, or Hell which is overpopulated with right-wing hairy guys like Hitler, Margaret Thacher and Ronald Reagan.

Anyhow, because you're "infinite" you are damn well stuck with what is handed out and you'll be there for eternity, or not.

It depends on your rule book.

IF there really is a Creator, and IF the Creator is pure Energy and Consciousness and IF He/She/It created us in His/Her/Its image, then perhaps we also are pure energy, and energy can never be created nor destroyed. (I told you that I piss off a lot of Christians).

Energy and matter are two states of the same thing as Einstein proved (E=mc2), and everything in the universe is one state or the other, and obvously, neither can ever be infinite.

When a loved one dies in a war it is always meaningless. That is a given. Any other geopolitical significance are for others to talk about.
