LOL! Actually, the sad part is I was on my computer posting quickly to the three pregnancy groups that I was a part of. Still, Jason and I both agree that this could easily be part of a "You know you're addicted to computers when..." list!
On Sunday, August 17th at 2:47PM, Noah Harrison Levine was born. Both mother and child (and dad, too) are doing fine. He weighed in at 7lbs 10.2oz and measured 20.5". (So much for the predictions that he was going to be huge! lol)
Here he is doing his Popeye imitation. Also known as "Why won't you just let me sleep in?"

Before I was a Mom I slept as late as I wanted. And never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was Mom I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.
Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts, my body and all my feelings. I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was OK. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

From the day Beth broke her water to last night, Beth and I had about 40 minutes of sleep each. Going 39 hours on only 40 minutes sleep reduces one's IQ to the equivalent of a snail.

Little Noah was asleep in my arms as I sat in a rocker in the hospital today. I knew he needed to have a diaper change (hadn't had one in awhile) and a feeding. But I didn't want to because I knew the minute I set him down and started to undress him, he'd wake up and scream. I must have put off that diaper change for a good 15 minutes (though it felt like 50) before I finally got up. (Never thought I'd postpone a diaper change for any reason other than what was in the diaper! )

Not quite that, but during that rocker sleep session, I had to stop every so many minutes and make sure he was still breathing. He was sleeping so soundly, you couldn't really tell by looking at him. (Plus, my breathing and rocking was interfering with a visual assessment.) I would just touch the tiny little hand and it'd wiggle around for a bit and everything was alright in the world again! (If only all problems could be solved that way!)
Well, hi there Noah. That's a great name you have there. When I was born, my mom and dad wanted to give me a Biblical name too, but none of the nurses could spell Mephibosheth.

Our 3 year old niece can already do some rudimentary typing and the mouse flies all over the screen, clicking on Tigger, piglet and Pooh trying to find the honey pot......

Old Dude: How right you are about your niece. My granddaughter at 4, can click on the favorites, find her folder and launch her sites. Knows how to click on the volume control to make those site scream out real loud She can also minimize and maximize to use two different sites at the same time. The list goes on

Well, I do have my old Pentium 200 sitting in the closet. I was thinking of hooking it up and putting some baby/kiddie programs on there for him to play with. But first he has to learn to move his head and arms around more.
