I upgraded my ZAPro and ended up with these weird fonts around the buttons . Changing the colour-scheme doesn't help at all. it's very hard to read this . Any idea ? thank you

Weird fonts? My ZAPro doesn't have any strange fonts. Can you post a screen shot?

That's what I thought. Your fonts are somehow messed up, Jane, my fonts are not like that and neither were Daterminehtor's. you have a condensed font substituted there. The text on the new ZA Pro is very clean and clear.

Spezi , woudn't I have a problem with fonts in general, if it was a font folder problem ? I have none , except for this with Zone Alarm. And that opened up this way , right after download. ??? Tried to email ZoneLabs but not holding my breath }>

Yes that's what I was wondering and why I asked Shelly for clarification.

Jane did you totally uninstall your previous version of Zone Alarm before going to 3.0?

when I did the upgrade I was told to turn the old version off , so that's what I did (thinking this was only an upgrade of the old version ). Do you think it would do any good if I reinstalled ?

I do in fact think it is worth a shot. It was a requirement with version 3.0 to totally remove the older version before installing the new one so it is quite possible that something has gone awry as a result.

Proper removal is also very critical so it is important to identify your exact operating system and then follow the step by step instructions for removal as per ZoneLabs posted here.

The font problem is in Windows, not ZA. If the program calls for a specific Windows font, and that font is corrupted, Windows will substitute another font, in this case a condensed font. Look in your Fonts folder in Control Panel.

Shelly , what should I look for ? I looked in the Fonts folder and there are 3 types of condensed fonts . One of the other font icons (MT EXTRA) seems to be a shortcut icon (has a shortcut arrow ) . How can I tell when the font is corrupted ??? Thank you for trying to help .

One way is to look at something written in the font, but a quick tip-off is a file size for the font that is way out of line with the sizes of other similar fonts.

Micro Clear Type helps immensely. Don't knowif works on YOUR OS, but it certainly does on XP Pro.

Getting it below 50k inorder to post ALMOST makes the point moot. However, you can at least see that the font is heavier.
