"How do I get rid of this mini window?"
Sun May-22-22 03:34 AM by lenjack

W10 home, all updates. For the last days, a mini window is showing up on the taskbar. At extreme lower right is Windows button. To the right of that is the white box, that says "Type here to search", and the new tiny window, is just to the right of that, with some sort of imaging in it. If I hover over it, a larger image, covering about 1/4 of the desktop appears, without clicking on it. It cannot be moved, and disappears when the hovering cursor, moves off of it.c
It appears to be some sort of calendar. At the top, it lists all apps documents web more. It also shows the date.

This is new, and has shown up out of no where. Aside, computer working perfectly. I have looked at the taskbar setting, with no help. How do I get rid of this annoyance?

No doubt it was in a recent Windows update. It showed up on mine too. It's not intrusive to me as I have that bar set to hidden until my mouse goes there.
But since you mentioned it, right clicking on it opens a Menu. Click Search in the Menu, then click Hidden. Gone.

Nightly Reader

Thanks. I played around with the calendar app, which didn't help, but upon reboot today, it's gone.

Right-click the taskbar, hover on Search, make sure that Show search highlights is un-checked.

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.
