I have been working on two HP Steam laptops. I had to reload 10 due to some incorrect user finger pushing. The machine has only 29GB of HDD. After the re-install and the install of CCleaner, Malwarebytes, PrivaZer and Superantispyware the HDD has only 8 GB left. My question is this "normal"?
To make sure the HDD was clean as possible I also ran the Disc Clean app under the C Properties clean, clicking on Clean system Files. This took a very long (>2hours) to complete with most of the time spent cleaning update files. Has anyone else seen this long clean process? I did this on both these HP machines, my Acer laptop and my Acer tower. All took an extremely long time.
XP used to start choking on anything less than 4gb Free space. Win7 was more. I've never run anything less than 20GB on Win7. Never pushed it any farther than that.
Simple solution is to get a bigger HD. CCleaner may be able to find more Free Space than what Windows Drive Cleaner can find. There are some Temp folders that Windows Drive cleaner did not Touch in both XP and Win7. I'm not sure about Win8.0 and above.
