" Lenovo notebook or tower"
Mon Dec-25-17 01:57 AM by Stevehiker

It's time to say goodbye to my Dell 3000 with xp. I do have an hp notebook with windows 7 and 10 on it. I'd like to keep the price below $200 if I can, so probably refurbished. A dvd rw or something that's writeable. I think I'd go with Windows 10. I have seen some possibilities on Amazon and Walmart, but thought I'd check with you guys.
Thanks,

Edit: I'm not into gaming, but I'd want to do photo editing and some storage; also, I have a monitor and a keyboard and track ball as far as that goes. I think I'm leaning towards a tower.

Edit 2: Ethernet connection as well.

Steve

One example I've found: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-ThinkCentre-Performance-M91P-Refurbished/dp/B01N12D432/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1514166000&sr=1-5&keywords=lenovo+computers&refinements=p_n_operating_system_browse-bin%3A12035945011%2Cp_36%3A1253506011

In the description it says "Windows 10 Home, USB Keyboard & Mouse are not Included" Then down below it lists Win 10 as the OS????? I'd have them clarify that before ever purchasing.

HP Pro 3500 MT,Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit,Intel I-5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ,4GB Ram,Intel HD 2500 Video(Onboard)

Looks like a good deal, however, after installing Windows 10 on all my computers, I am sorry I didn't keep Windows 7 on my desktop. A Dell Dimensions 3000.

Yeh, I'm re-thinking this; and it might be smarter to go with something with Windows 7 on it. I do get annoyed with the updating on Windows 10.

Keep in mind that Microsoft will end the extended support for Windows 7 in January of 2020.

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.

Plus you can control a little bit when the updates/restarts happen so it doesn't happen in the middle of things. People that complain about that have usually put them off till it forces you to do it. They usually happen the second Tuesday of each month other times it would be hot fixes and emergency security updates.

You've got me convinced to go with Windows 10. With a machine with Windows 7 on it; I'm looking at a refurbished machine with an older cpu.

Here is one that caught my eye:
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Thinkcentre-M82-Professional-Refurbishedd/dp/B01M1UXF11/ref=sr_1_53?ie=UTF8&qid=1514341319&sr=8-53&keywords=lenovo+tower+windows
It's more than I was going to spend, but there is plenty of storage. It doesn't have an optical drive, though.

This is what I got;
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075F4L9Z8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have other things coming up; like dental and stuff, so the $300+ one wasn't a go.

Should be easy enough to add one. They're cheap enough.
