"My wife's laptop running Windows 8.1 has"

just recently started doing something that is bugging the hell out of her.

When she opens her gmail or Facebook or the online record of my teenage daughters high school work all from desktop shortcuts, they all open up as a tiny minimized browser at the top of the screen.

She then has to maximize the screen of drag the window down. They all used to open full screen. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere (probably) that will prevent this behavior??

Which browser? I'll bet it's IE. If so install another browser and make it default.

IE has had this annoyance since Adam wore short pants.

It is IE, & it's all my Wife has ever used for years.

It has always worked fine in the LT until just recently. I tried to tell her "just use Chrome/Slimjet etc." but she has no desire whatever to learn a new browser.

She just wants me to "put it back the way it was", but I can't figure out how to do it LOL

I've touted IE New Window Maximizer to forum members several times over the years and have used it in all versions of Windows since the days of Win95/98. Currently I'm using it with Win10.

Go here for the free (donation ware) program - http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/Default.aspx

Set it to run at boot up and your wife should never have a problem again.

Jim.

Thanks.
