"Ransomware"

I tried to do a search for this and it did not complete. This problem comes on a friends PC. Only using M/S Edge. He has run CCleaner, both scan and registry.
CCleaner will sometimes get rid of the problem but it re-appears. This does not happen using Chrome.
Is there something else to run to remove this malware? I suggested Malwarebytes.

I would like to help this friend to completely remove this annoying problem.

Regards,
Dan Kahn

I had him download Malwarebytes and run it. Seems to have cleaned up the problem.
I suggested he purchase this since this is a recurring problem. They are probably getting this malware from a bad email.
In any case Malwarebytes solved the problem.

CCleaner deletes temporary files and orphaned registry items. It's not intended to remove any malware or junkware. Malwarebytes is an appropriate tool for removing malicious software. You might also try ADW Cleaner from Malwarebytes.

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.

Thanks for the other product ADW. I did not know of this, I think I'll put it on my 4 PC's.
