"Windows 10 Edge "e" splash screen"

Anyone know how to get rid of this annoying splash screen - short of going back to IE11?

What splash screen? I don't see one. Mine opens directly to my designated home page.

Screenshot?

Edit:Are you referring to the blue screen that appears for about half a second before the home page? You must have seriously bad blood pressure!

The best "solution" I could find isn't much of a solution - but you can apparently change the color of the splash screen but not it's duration.

I also searched for a way to change the color to "transparent" - the way Iconoid - http://www.sillysot.com/ - changes icon backgrounds - but found nothing so far.

Jim.

EDIT: If you are comfortable editing the registry, drill down to

Quote:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SplashScreen\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge

in the left pane.

Click on the final MicrosoftEdge in the left pane. and then in the right pane modify BackgroundColor by adding a 0 (a zero) to the current color code.

This will make the splash screen transparent - though it will appear to be white because the background is MS Edge white.

Simply remove the zero if you ever miss the Edge browser blue splash screen.
