You don't have to be. I have iTunes but use QT Lite. Whenever there is an iTunes update I install it, then uninstall Quicktime that comes bundled with it and install QT Alternative or Lite.

I read the posts here .
And I know enough people with iTunes/iPods that I need to have some sort of vague knowledge as to what its about.
And its hard to get someone to switch from what they use (even if it is crappy & bloat) to an alternative - alternatives which do exist for iTunes.
I did used to use QuickTime for its (Mozilla) browser plugin but it was buggy enough, & Flash is so much more prevalent these days, that QuickTime is no longer worth it for me.
