"What's better? A php or cgi board?"

PC911 is obviously a cgi board while other forums such as vBulletin forums are php boards. I heard that cgi boards (which are probably written in perl) are a lot heavier on the server than php boards. Is this true? What are the advantages of both against each other? Thanks!

First things first, which will your server support and at what cost?

Once you find this out then check the different software for each and use what you feel is good for you and your server.
