Oh trust me, i'm very tempted. I'm just not sure i could get used to the bulkier feel of it. As far as the buttons/ features go, it looks like there's no real big advantage other than the fact it's laser.

How about the battery charge? Does a full charge last any longer on the MX 1000 vs the MX 700?

That's about $13 cheaper than Best Buy this week. They have an instant rebate of $30 off the $79 reg. price. But Logitech is excluding BB, among many others, from their $20 rebate.

Yes it lasts longer. The laser is the whole point! It has much finer resolution of the surface it is used on, it even works on glass. It feels a lot better to my hand then the MX 700 I still use at work.

The buttons are easier to press for me. Larger and raised more. It lasts a long time but I never used a cordless one before so I can't make a comparison.

I bought mine on sale at $44 CDN (Future Shop) at Christmas. Never ever seen a price that low again.
