"Latest version of Firefox is very nice...." Fri Aug-12-05 07:58 PM by _Chewy_
If i was a 1/2 ethusiast about Firefox before, now i'm completely won over. I was using v 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 before on Win2K - can't remmeber exactly. At the time, I was trying to fix a few quirks so to speak and wasn't completely won over.
I'm now using the latest version (1.0.6) and I absolutely luv it. I don't know if this feature was present before or not, but I found a new feature that I think is very convenient. If you do a Ctrl + F, you can type in the word you're looking for on the website and FF will automatically highlight as you type. See the screenshot below.
If you happen to be a researcher or a book writer, I can imagine this feature would be extremely handy. There are other improvements I noticed in the latest version and I'm quickly latching onto FF as my primary browser now.

I didn't know that. Like I mentioned earlier, I didn't use the earlier version I had for very long. That being said, some of the new features added to this latest version are definitely nice to have such as the pop-up blocker. Looks like some of the icons got a bit of a makeover; and the control panel for 'Internet Options' seems to be much more user friendly. All around - nice improvements to see.

Yep did that already, currently I have TabBrowser Preferences, and Bork Bork Bork!. I D/L MiniT and Mouse Gestures the other day but haven't installed them yet as I've been too busy with playing with my new video card. I'll have to try out the AdBlock though - that sounds interesting.

I liked the function in older versions where you could search the page for certain words by putting the word in the search bar and hitting enter. It now seems that this search bar only searches sites like google, yahoo, amazon ect. and not the page you are in. I have installed a plugin that does this but has a few bugs (all-in-one-search button). Any other good extensions that let you do this?
Also I cannot figure out how to stop the window from re-sizing.

Another great extension is "IEview". Right click anywhere on the web page and it opens it in Internet Explorer. Wonderful for those few sites that don't work right in Firefox.
