"WinXP(HE) Crtl/Alt/Del Problem"

When I press CAD, instead of the usual window that shows what is running, I get a CPU Usage graphic and sometimes I can't get rid of it. Sometimes there will be an icon in the sys tray that I can right click on and close the graphic but sometimes it's not there and there is no way to close it. Don't have the foggiest idea what I've done to activate the thing. What do I need to do to restore the normal CAD function ????

Sounds like you have the task manager set to the performance tab, just select the "processes" tab and you will be back to seeing the running programs.

How odd. No matter what method I use to open my task manager I get whatever display I last used and left it set at. So if I left it at "performance" then it opens to a graphic. I still get options to change though.

When did you start getting these symptoms? I don't know what else to try other than running the "system restore" and going back to a point where it was working.

Looks like you've been having some other problems too. Have you done the full virus scan to eliminate that as a possible cause?

If what you get is something like the picture in my attachment, the only problem is that you accidentally have switched to the graphic mini view, just double click in the picture (Try in the top of the picture if it doesn’t work in the center) that will restore all the tabs, you can go back to that view double clicking in the area around the tabs.

It's all the same functionality that was built into Task Manager when NT4 rolled out. Remember that XP is based on the NT platform.
