I can turn the printer on and watch the printing head/carrier/ink cartridge holder zip back and forth during it's start-up. At the last milimeter of movement, just before settling into the ready-for-business position, it emits a bodacious 'twang'! Is my old friend going out with a twang instead of a bang?
It's about out of ink so I'll probably opt for an HP model 950 at Sam's, but I am just a little curious about what is causing the noise.
Could be it's "stringing" you along. Might be time to "pick" a new one before the repair guy "bottle necks" you into a bill more expensive than a 950c.
