I was able to setup a Yahoo account in Incredimail before, but there seems to be a problem now.

Whenever I try to recieve mail from my Yahoo account, a message shows up saying that there was an authorization failure because either my username or my password is incorrect. But they are correct, and so are my POP and SMTP addresses. What could be the problem?

Yesterday I had the same problem with my Yahoo account using Outlook Express.Later in the day when I checked mail thru Outlook Express it was OK, just a glitch in the system I guess.

That's odd. All my 3 Yahoo accounts have an authorization failure. Now I only have my default Destiny account. What in the world is happening here? I'm about to explode!

I just got this from Yahoo, maybe one of the settings below will work for Incredimail.

In order to enhance your email experience, beginning on January 15, 2002, Yahoo! Mail will begin using authenticated SMTP to send mail from POP3 clients such as Outlook and Eudora. You are receiving this message because you have recently used a POP3 email client to read your Yahoo! Mail. If you do not take the actions described below, you may not be able to send messages from your POP3 email client after this date.

POP3 email clients use SMTP to send outgoing messages. In most cases, user names and passwords are verified in this process. Authenticated SMTP should help to reduce the amount of spam that Yahoo! users receive.

For help changing your settings, select your email client from this list:

Outlook and Outlook Express
Netscape Messenger
Eudora
Microsoft Entourage
VTech Companion -- Your current settings are correct.
SkyTV -- Your settings are correct
These settings can also be found at http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/

Remember, if you do not update your client settings by January 15, 2002, you may not be able to send mail after that time.

Outlook and Outlook Express

To configure authenticated SMTP in Outlook Express:

From the Tools menu, select "Accounts..."
Highlight your Yahoo! Mail account (it may be called pop.mail.yahoo.com).
Click the "Properties" button on the right side.
Choose the "Servers" tab.
Check the box next to "My server requires authentication."
Click the "Apply" button.
Click the "OK" button.

Netscape Messenger

To configure authenticated SMTP in Netscape Messenger:

From the Edit menu, select "Preferences..."
Click the plus (+) icon next to "Mail & Newsgroups."
Choose "Mail Servers."
In the "Outgoing mail server user name" field enter dosdoodles.
Click the OK button.
Eudora

To configure authenticated SMTP in Eudora:

From the Tools menu, Select "Options..."
Click on the the "Sending Mail" icon.
Check the box next to "Allow authentication."
Click the OK button.
Microsoft Entourage

To configure authenticated SMTP in Entourage:

From the Tools menu, select "Accounts."
Double-click your Yahoo! Mail account (it may be called pop.mail.yahoo.com).
Click on the "Click here for advanced sending options" button.
Check the box next to "SMTP server requires authentication."
Select the radio button next to "Use same settings as incoming mail server."
Click the OK button
