hubbler,

Post a picture of the small text when it looks correct, which you say it is when you restart.

Also post the URL for the website where you saw this text and we can see if it looks the same on other computers.

What size is your monitor?

15", 17", 19", or 21"?

What resolution do you use?

Right click an empty area of your desktop| Left click Properties at the bottom of the popup menu| Left click the Settings tab of the Display Properties window | Look under Screen Area and there will be some numbers like 800 by 600 pixels | The numbers are your resolution.

What text size setting do you use?

In Internet Explorer click View | Highlight Text Size on the View menu| Which Text size has a dot beside it?

1. Change your Text Size to Largest and see if it helps. It should help some.

2. Change your resolution to the next smaller one by moving the slider one notch to the left. Then click apply and follow the instructions. You may want to move the slider back two notches. You'll just have to experiment a little.

If these steps don't help or you don't like the changes for some reason, then change them back and we'll try something else.

do you use a wheel mouse? if so try holding down the control key and scroll the wheel to change the size of your text.

I see what you mean...nope I sure dont but isnt that determined by the video card and monitor? i see different setting choices on my ge force box than i have in the system on this puter which is using an sis4 meg card...option sizes...have you used a flat screen is it different?interesting to say the least...i think i have that resolution listed as a choice on my sony camera though...and i think i have seen it in some picture editing programs...

Thanks. Just curious. It looked unusual to me.

I guess if you have 600,800,1200, and 1600 as choices, you could just as easily have 1000 or 1400.

A standard monitor has an aspect ratio of 4:3, for instance an 800x600 resolution translates 800/4 = 200, 600/3 = 200, so the pixels come out square. Any resolution that does not translate to pixels that are equal in height and width will result in a distorted image.

Shelly
