Microcenter has this game pack on sale for $8 + tax.
1) Tomb Raider: The last revelation 2) Show Force 3) Quake II 4) Deus EX
The last two have my curiosity. For you gamers out there, any feedback on Quake II and Deus EX? I'm not a hard core gamer, but i have a few in my collection that i like (mostly FPS like MaxPayne and flight sim games).
>Loved the eraser bots... learned the levels well and the AI >got REALLY good when you let them learn against you.
I take it you are talkin about Deus EX here? Never played it and have no idea what's it bout. Is it another FPS game? Good strategy involved or just is it just basically a shoot em up game?
>I know I had tons of fun in Q2 and Deus Ex, though you'll >only find hard core gamers still playing Q2 =-\ > >Loved the eraser bots... learned the levels well and the AI >got REALLY good when you let them learn against you. If you get gamespy there are 5 or 6 hundred servers still playing Quake 2 albeit with a lot of mods and new maps it's a great game.
I've bought bundled games like that before. They turned out to be stripped down versions. They don't have all of the levels of the full blown CD. If you saw this CD at the store, read the box or jewel case. It usually tells you. There is nothing wrong with them. Just not full version.

At $8 per set, i suspect you could be very right about that. In which case, i'd rather keep my $8 and spend it elsewhere.... Now that summer is in full swing here, a big fat burger and cold beer sounds very good about now.
>You do know that Max Payne 2 is coming out soon, right?
Kewl, i'm lookin forward to it. I finished the first one in no time... i'm gonna start on the NY minute as soon as i get my new hard drive and installed. Know when it's coming out DM? Not that i have money burning in my pockets or anything!
No clue on a release date, but you can see some new screenshots at the link below. Keep in mind, these are GAMEPLAY screenshots, not renders or movies. Expect a game about 4X as long as the original, pro actors, and the original Max Payne voice.
Damn, that is one odd lookin PC. Is that an actual tower hidden inside there? At any rate, no that's not mine and it must be a different Chewy. Those damn Chewies are everywhere!

On a similiar note, I found a Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 dual-pack for $7 at Fred Meyer. It's about time those two were released together. Anyway, Deus Ex is a great FPS with RPG elements, based on what I've heard of it. Quake 2 is a classic, of course.
RPG = Role Playing Game (eg Final Fantasy series, Baldur's Gate, etc). RPGs are my personal favorite genre.
Fallout is a post-nuclear RPG with a great story, a great turn-based combat system (which spawned a seperate game, Fallout: Tatics), and a non-linear plot. Definitely one of the best RPGs for the PC, IMO.
IMO the only game worth the price of admission is "Deus Ex". Tomb Raider, an old game, has numerous problems on Windows XP, if that's your OS. there's a patch but you might have further woes. However, Deus Ex alone is worth 8 bucks or more.
