"Request: chipset driver needed"

I have a favor to ask. I'm doing a fresh install of Win98 on a Compaq Presario Desktop (model 5170). I installed AIDA32 and it shows it's a "Compaq" motherboard with Intel chipset 82440 BX/ZX. I've loaded pretty much all the drivers i need and have not been successful in finding the driver for the chipset.

I've tried www.driverguide.com and Compaq's support site and searching on google but still no luck.

Can anyone help out?

Apparently they don't make it easy for you. I just went through their support page for that model. Rompacs OMG !! for everything except peripherals. Maybe there is another manufacturer that uses that chipset.

Get the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility. I beleive it works for all Intel motherboard chipsets. I know it works for the 440BX/ZX.

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.
