doing a screen shot of a desktop is a cool thing. I do it once in a while and save em....so I have like a little history of my computing. some day in like 2015 I can look back and say wow look at that old technology....how did we get along with that stuff.
haha Anyway you have a nice looking desktop...but Im sure you hear that from all the guys right! haha
The pix I want to show won't comeup - some kind of system error. But anyway, I was thinking of using this other pix of my daughter...have to figure out how to fix it. I think she is great!

Nahhhh, I am the only one using this computer. Nobody else (hubby) comes near it at all. He can pull the plug, but I can also disable his sportvan }> }> }> , so he knows better!

Yup...31 years old...have to add her 11 year old son, but then I have to get one with my 3 kids and the 9 grandkids on my desktop...gotta wait for oldest daughter to get pix developed...grrr

RE your upload error, remember PC911 only allows pics of a certain size to be uploaded to their server. Open the pic in question in Paint and click File/Save As and click on the drop down arrow for Save As Type and choose JPEG and rename pic at same time. This removes a bunch of pixels thereby creating a smaller file size.

I just did a search on MSCONFIG, the search returned more than one result for MSCONFIG so I just clicked each one until program opened, then right-clicked that file from the search results then Send to...Desktop (Create Shortcut). XP doesn't have winipcfg so I couldn't test it, but method should work the same.
All right whipat and lonnie, the easiest way to change your desktop image is to right-click on ANY picture on the web and select 'Set As Background'. For example, I did the right click thing on Whipat's desktop image and set it as my desktop image and it's really confusing to look at . Try it Lonnie, you can always change it to something else. The larger the image you set as background the better it will look pixel-wise. Have fun. I rarely make it one week looking at the same image.
It is in three original sizes within the same file 36x36 48x48 and 64x64, for those not familiar with icons and sizes, Icons will display better if you set the size of the Icon to any of the original sizes (Display Properties, Icons, Size) Picture and attachment ZIP.

Here's the icon shortcut drill. Right click on desktop, select New/Shortcut, wizard will open, type web address in the window, Next, rename shortcut to something descriptive, Finish. The new shortcut will appear on desktop, right click, select Properties, Change Icon, browse to icon.
Now I wish you could tell me that easily how to create some of those amazing sigs. Photoshop required, I assume?
Roni- I did try your icon, but I have an icon free desktop and using it on the task bar or start menu made it too small to view properly . Looked good on the desktop while it lasted though.
Yes, bitmaps are bad for resizing as I said in my post, I dream on the day when computers will be so fast we will be using vector based graphics on the Quick Launch area !!!!
Marie, I made them with different programs. I made some with Ulead's Cool 3D, some with Gif Animator 4, some with Swish, Some with Flash. I use Paint Shop Pro for some of the graphics. You can get trial versions of all these. Some of them are not expensive--like Cool 3D, Gif animator, and Swish. Thanks for the tut on icons. I have saved it and will refer to it frequently when I get my new ones made.
