I'll be in temple tonight, tomorrow, and Monday (for Yom Kippur). I'll definitely say a few prayers for her. Let us know how she's doing. (Yom Kippur is when we ask to be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life so there will be plenty of times to pray for her health and wellbeing.)

Laura is home from the hospital. She is on her way to recovery. The MDs think the seizures were caused by an electolite imbalance resulting from her body fighting a GI tract infection (with resultant throwing-up, diarrhea and high amounts of water intake). For the next two years, she's to take anti-convulsive medication whenever she has a fever, just to be safe we hope.

I'm glad things are looking up. I hate when children are ill.
My granddaughter also had seizures about 11-12 months of age; from a high fever and also has to take meds at the start of a fever. She's 3 1/2 now and no reoccurence. Dr said this is a common thing. It's harder on the parents...
Great news, Al! Seizures are not all that uncommon in young children. I remember having them once in a while when I was very young. Most children outgrow them after a few years.
Al, so glad Laura is doing better. I'm sure she'll grow out of this malady as she grows older. Young bodies have to contend with so much as they grow toward maturity. Laura's lucky to have a dad like you.

Just fantastic news Al. Glad your family is OK again. It's times like these that put a little grey in your hair and adds "character lines" to your face. Or at least, I think that's what happened to me.
