I've been a long time Starbucks coffee fan, but I just got a free Senseo coffee machine for filling out a short survey. It came with one bag of medium roast and I went out and bought 2 additional flavors and they're both pretty good. It definitely has more of a "european roast" taste like to it. At first I wasn't so keen on it...but now I'm starting to get slowly hooked! :9 Anyone else have a Senseo? What's your favorite coffee?

Folgers regular mountain grown, my favorite.
Wife drinks all the exotic stuff, and claims she likes it.

My favorite coffee is probably Starbucks Gold Coast. But I don't keep it at home.

I have Philips Senseo and HomeCafe (Black & Decker) machines. The Senseo produces a full-bodied and flavorful cup of frothy coffee. However, I have have to be careful how much I drink. It doesn't take much of the U.S. blends to irritate my esophagus. I find the Douwe-Egbert Dutch coffee formulations to be better than what we get here in the U.S. The U.S. pods produce a more bitter cup of coffee in my opinion.

The HomeCafe is quite good and can lower the cost of drinking premium coffee drinks.

I also have two or three cups of Folger's or Maxwell House Decaf using a conventional brewer in the evening.

6 days a week its Kirkland Coffee on a Mr.Coffee drip. Oh Kirkland Coffee was judged one of the best by Consumer Reports Magazine. Kirkland Coffee can only be purchased at Costco. On the 7th day its a tall drip at Starbucks.

My favorite coffee has for many years been 8 O'clock French Roast, 100% Arabica beans. I grind the beans just before brewing. It's not exotic by any means, it just tastes good.

I get Papua New Guinea Goroka Arabica from the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne. You guys should order some.

My municipal water supply is polluted with chickensh$t from poultry farms and it tastes and smells like it.

You are correct about water having some affect on the taste of coffee. One lake that we canoe camped on had water that was safe to drink, but with a high tannin content. It was noticable in the coffee, not objectionable, just different and to me, smoother tasting.

I drink coffee for the caffeine hit no other reason. So it doesnt matter what brand. My Missus just buys whatever is on special.
Now my marijuana is a different story, I will only smoke buds from the Tweed Valley,as this area seems to have the least chemical treatment.:-D

We have a Senseo machine, and my breakfast wouldn't be breakfast without it! very smooth!

Ah, one of my very favorite subjects :)

When I visited my sister in Florida, I brought back ten 1-lb bags of Cuban coffee in my suitcase, ten different brands. I was in heaven for about three months while I went thru them....believe me, it was worth the extra weight! LOL

Right now I'm stuck on New Mexico Pinon Coffee, which is sold in red bags at Trader Joe's. I love pine nuts, and there are actually dried pine nuts in the coffee.

If you live anywhere in the San Francisco Bay area, there is a place that carries Cuban coffee. It's called Fiesta Latina and it's located off of 3rd Avenue and 101. If you want to email me direct, I can give you directions. They only have a couple of brands, but at least it's Cuban. : )

Wow, you went through 10 lbs of coffee in 3 months? You really must be a coffee nut! :) Usually 1 lb bag will last me about a month.

I've never tried Cuban coffee or NM Pinon. There's actually a Trade Joes not too far from where I live. I'll have to try it out next time I'm at their store. The best coffee I ever had was Hawaiin Kona. A guy I used to work with took a vacation there several years ago and brought some to the office to share. Somehow it tasted much better than the Kona I've tasted around the coffee shops here. It was delicious.

Allyn have you tried their Ethiopian Sidamo? You might like it if you prefer a dark smooth flavor.

The ones I've seen at my local grocer have Douwe-Egbert logo on the bag, but sounds like what you're saying is they make a different variety? Where do you find these european blends?

I guess I'm an amateur coffee drinker compared to some of you. I only have 2 cups/ day at the most. What is HomeCafe - never heard of it.

Now that I am thoroughly hooked on Starbucks & Senseo, I the other brands like Maxwell House seem so watered down and bland, I can't really enjoy it.

I used to brew & drink three+ pots of coffeee and smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day. I qiut both cold turkey years ago.

I have never had a Starbucks (or any "Designer") coffee.
When the notion to drink coffee strikes, it's a (senior), (37 cents a cup) of MacDonald's decaf.

Their coffee maker is surprisingly quite good. I signed up for their promotion about 4 years ago and it's still going strong * knock on wood *.

Our primary coffee is Starbuck's Verona...I make mine half-caf.

I'm with fishstick though on Blue Mountain but ONLY when I can score it in Jamaica. That is just excellent coffee when it's the real deal stuff from the better plantations. The thing that I really love about ot aside from the incredible flavor is that when you leave the coffemaker on(warmer plate)...it doesn't really get that funky burned aroma 'till things are actually getting down there...which doesn't happen with either Corky or I around.
BTW...most of what is called Blue Mountain here in the US isn't really.
