Odd... In my accident in April, I had the police report before I even left the accident scene with the other two groups of people affected by our three car collision. I had the insurance on the phone discussing with them the problems, gave them all the information and within 2 hours had confirmation of a rental car for the next morning at Enterprise with a case number, and everything to follow through from that.

I had no issues getting approved for a rental (its in my contract), free towing and holding for assessment for the adjuster to review if it was salvagable or not. Not one cent out of my pocket (except calling) for the duration from the time of the accident till I bought a new car. Heck, from the time I was told the car was totaled til I could pick up the check was less than 24 hours.

Maybe I just got lucky, but I had no issues that you thought you might have had with your accident. Maybe its just that the companies are finally getting their crap together and the right and left hand are actually talking to each other. *shrugs*
