Hi all must admit haven't been here for a while (due to bad health) :blusher:
I've been contacted by a friend who has had her computer attacked somehow they blocked her Microsoft, Email and Facebook accounts etc. She got someone in to enable her Email again but he couldn't get her Microsoft working and told her it won't really make a difference, she can send ordinary emails but not to all addresses it says she needs to sign into Microsoft (which she can't) so unable to send some important.
Any ideas how to get her Microsoft account unlocked?
(She has moved away from me now that's why she had to get someone else in to help)
Thanks

I use Thunderbird for email. That being said, I ask what a Microsoft account has to do with sending emails?

I have no idea does seem a bit strange.
I wonder if she may still have that nasty infection lurking somewhere? Even though he thinks he's cleared it.
Thanks

We need more information about what "her Microsoft" is. Is it an email address hosted by Microsoft, such as @live.com, @hotmail.com, @outlook.com? Or are you talking about something other than an email account?

Please don't post her full email address here!

Microsoft makes many different products, so you need to be more specific.

Okay, I'm going to assume that "her Microsoft" refers to her Microsoft account and MS Office apps are asking her to sign in with her account credentials. I'll also assume that she has tried to reset her password but there is some problem. Without knowing what that problem is, I can't offer anymore advice.

It would be helpful if your friend would post here directly instead of relaying through you.

Have you tried System Restore? It will restore back to a time when the system was working.

As I said earlier Unfortunately she's too far away from me to do any thing but I would of thought the person she paid who managed to get email working would of tried that, Thank you
