Mozilla removed today 23 Firefox add-ons that snooped on users and sent data to remote servers, a Mozilla engineer has told Bleeping Computer today.

The list of blocked add-ons includes "Web Security," a security-centric Firefox add-on with over 220,000 users, which was at the center of a controversy this week after it was caught sending users' browsing histories to a server located in Germany.

Just goes to show you big tech can't be trusted with anything. I'm afraid there is a culture in those companies that view us as ants.

Interesting. I wish Google would do something similar with the multitudes of junk extensions that infect Chrome. I always look at Chrome Extensions when I'm working on a customer's computer and remove any that look suspicious.

The first thing I always hear is I don't know where that came from when I ask if that's something they use.
