It's possible that the Lenovo laptop has One-Key Recovery built in. I just dealt with a Lenovo that had the feature, and I believe it was in place back when Win7 was current. On the one I just dealt with, there was a tiny hidden pinhole, similar to the one you use to open a cellphone SIM card slot. I inserted a small paperclip into the hole and it brought up a menu with a few options (diagnostics, etc, and, best of all, an option to reset the laptop to factory from a hidden partition). The One-Key Recovery was prominently displayed on the machine near the spacebar. I would look for this first.
