After recently updating FF, the following Menu bar appeared. I don't want it. How to get rid of it?

Switch to Internet Explorer 11.

Sorry, couldn't resist! After all the snide comments over the years recommending abandoning IE for this, that, or the other browser, it seemed only appropriate.

Jim.

From the FF menu bar click Tools - AddOns or from the three-bar Open Menu button on the upper right click AddOns. I'm not sure what category the toolbars fall under, but you can click through all the AddOn categories. Look for something like DOC to PDF toolbar or tab and remove it.

Then go to the Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features. Look for any toolbars, anything published by Mindspark, and remove them. It may help to sort by the Installed On date to find the most recent stuff.

Then do a scan with ADW Cleaner.

A scan with Malwarebytes wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks for the response, Martin. No luck so far. I'll try downloading Spyhunter to look for Inigma software and see what happens. But will first make an image of my OS.

FWIW, per your suggestion, Martin, I ran a new download of Malwarebytes, which quarantined 1020 malware items, many of which were related to Firefox. Eureka!! The startup page for FF is back to normal,..well, mostly, but the short cut boxes are back, and I'm pleased. Many thanks, Martin, you were a great help. biggrin

Click the Firefox menu button (normally located at the far right beside the URL and Search boxes)
Choose Customize at the bottom of the Firefox menu.
At the bottom of the next screen that appears, click Show/Hide Toolbars dropdown menu, then place a check mark next to Menu Bar menu item.

Does that do what you want? The abandon IE 11 is still valid btw. :)

Edit: jeez I think I'm losing it I swear only KJT's response was there when I posted lol.
