Built a pc in 2013. i7 4770 3.4 LGA1150. 8mg. Appears ASUS Z87-K MB may be bad as I can't enter BIOS. Worth salvaging with a new low cost MB?

If its the board, get a board, for $50 or less, & you'll have a perfectly fine computer.

Sure it's worth it even if the mobo costs you a 100 bucks. That processor is way newer than what I'm using and it's still fine for what I do.

Are you having other problems?
If not, is it really that important for you to be able to access the BIOS? Seems like a lot of trouble and a bit of expense to replace the board.
Do you have a USB keyboard you could try? A Google search turned up an instance where the BIOS could be entered using a USB keyboard.
Jim.

It will not boot, so it's a door stop in its current condition. I'll replace the MB and extend it's life. Is my only MB requirement board size, RAM compatibility and an LGA 1150 socket? Thx.

If you plan on keeping the existing install of windows closest chipset is easier. If not most modern o/s's are pretty tolerant of change although it may trigger activation(probably)though a phone call to M$ will sort out most issues.
