Follow the steps above except for #6 which you should checkmark to Automatically restart.

Try looking at Event Manager in Computer Management.

Right click on your desktop Windows icon. Select Manage. If necessary, expand System Tools by clicking the down arrow. Select and expand Event Viewer.

See if there are any error messages, critical stops, etc. that occurred at the time of the most recent freeze up.
