When he replaced the HS, he replaced the fan wires to the M/B (assuming they came disconnected)? (And orientated the ??? correctly - I'm confused a bit as to what came off & from where?)
Otherwise, my guess would be the M/B.
Doc's working on a M/B tester ;-).
