I have XP Pro I would like to repair Internet explorer. It is not available in add and remove programs as it was not an upgrade.

Is there a way to repair MSIE for XP I have all patches except last one KB905915 as this seems to screw up my explorer. It goes to home page fine but will not go to any other URL MSIE freezes. If uninstall the KB905915 everything works fine.

I thought maybe a repair action of MSIE might fix the problem

If this problem occurs with someone else I would like to know if they could come up with a solution to this problem. As stated earlier I cannot duplicate this problem on my laptop or my older DELL 800

Anyone else having problems with KB905915 update

It causes errors all over the place on this drive
and on a second drive it works just fine,,,

I did manage to figure out it has something to do
with the file browseui.dll cause I can leave all the
newer files in place but just put back the older browseui.dll
and all works fine.......

This was obviously a patch that had a lot of problems. It worked fine on both of mine.

The one thing I found by changing to older DLL is that the M$ web page says I still need to install the update.

Yet the add/remove in control panel shows that update is installed.
I just hid the update at M$ web page as I already have it installed.

The below worked for me. just remember to save the old dll before updating. Once you update you go to Windows\system32 folder rename the DLL and copy and paste the old dll you saved into this folder.
